I wanted to come up with something special for today, I mean it only comes around once every 4 years. I can’t do anything as lavish as say, Gilbert and Sullivan, but I’m sure I can come up with something right? Right??
Today’s Prompt: More than you bargained for.
It’s strange, I keep feeling like I’m not living up to the challenge. I haven’t posted anything on the prompts in a while, I mean, I’ve written but not anything worth sharing…
And then I realize… I’m writing the prompts. I’m introducing them to the world, and telling a story of sorts.
Today’s Prompt: Maybe it’s time to change the rules.
Starting, writing or finishing– life is all about cycles. The view from each point on the circle is the same. This can be good. This can be bad. This can just be. It’s all a matter of perspective.
Today’s prompt: The view
What do you do when you breakout wherever you’ve put your acne medication? I don’t know about you, but I put some on an unaffected part to see if it is the medication.
Today’s Prompt: Experimentation
It’s funny how satisfying writing little snippets of information can be. It’s kinda like writing, only there’s no real plot – just an introduction and boom: today’s prompt…
Today’s prompt: An introduction or … boom.
Sitting at the computer, staring at a blank screen can be one of the scariest moments in a writer’s live: sitting at the computer staring at a completed manuscript is the other.
Today’s Prompt: Now what?
Sometimes the path around an obstacle is through it.
Today’s Prompt: Pushing through
Sometimes the challenge in life is getting out of bed and getting on with the day.
Today’s Prompt: What happens when everything conspires to keep you out of bed?
So, still overcoming inertia it would seem. I have been writing– just not fiction or flash. As I work on this, I find myself drifting back to my long form, which is a good thing. I need to finish my stories. Just as soon as I write a short story for another anthology.
Today’s Prompt: Finishing what you start
I’ve been thinking about luck and the fact that sometimes your luck is simply a matter of perspective. I was driving in the snow and didn’t have enough momentum to get up the hill. Before I was able to to anything else, an oncoming vehicle was plowing straight towards my car.
I jumped into a ditch and watched as it passed my car, all the while waiting to hear the impact and see my car slide down the hill.
It didn’t happen. I see that as being very lucky, but luckier would have involved not being there- and if I weren’t there… I’d never know how lucky I was… something to think about.
Today’s Prompt: Near miss
