Its been almost two years since I was diagnosed as being Diabetic. I knew it was a strong possibility – growing up I knew that genetically it tended to skip a generation and Type 2 usually followed the genes that led to the ‘Four Fs’ Fair, Fat, Forty and Family.
These days, in the US it is a lot more prevalent – we put sugar in everything– even our meat. It’s also not sugar, it’s carbs it’s in everything and yes, we need fiber– but we do not need sugar and pointless starches.
My dietetic needs have made me very aware of the world around me– especially to the world of food. I just wish I could turn it off– only I can because it is medical need- I need to know.
