The calendar is a fascinating thing -it can help us get organized and get a grip on everything you need to do, and it can also make you feel overwhelmed.
When you split responsibilities calendars are a great tool, better then, “I’m working a game tonight– are you doing anything?” So you keep a calendar or three and try and keep them synched.
The only thing is, while the dates remain the same, our plans can change. ‘You know that group meeting you had for this evening, well– it’s been canceled,’ is a lot easier to deal with than the ‘I need you now.’
It’s why I hate making commitments – because I never know where/when things are- but I try and so I keep multiple calendars open for plans.
