My dad was the master of creative vehicle after market additions. He was also very good at rigging things to work. To this day I remember having a light switch attached to the front dash of our old Plymouth Fury so we could manually turn the fan on because the sensor was shot.
I hated it, we laughed about it– but I’ve done it myself on more than one occasion – I had a toggle switch for the wipers… I’ve got a power adapter that was designed to come off the power outlet in the car and have a charger upfront and another that attached to the back of the console so people could charge their devices in the back seat.
I described it to my mom and she said ‘that sounds like something your father would do.’ And that made me smile.
