There is nothing we can’t do in fiction – the question is – should we? Part of writing is saying “what happens?” part of editing is saying “Should it happen?” and more importantly “Is it important to the story?” Sometimes its a choice: do we go big, or do we go small?
Today’s Prompt: Go Big
Have you ever seen something in a movie, or on TV that you say ‘I wouldn’t have done that…’ When you’re a writer, you get to decide what people do and the consequences of those actions. Something to think about.
Today’s Prompt: Curcumstances
I think in most of my stories, the hero isn’t the hero because they decide to do something – they’re just in the right place at the right time (although more often than not, they’re in the wrong place at precisely the wrong time.) – It’s all a matter of perspective
Today’s Prompt : Remind me to never do that again
Sometimes something small and random can change everything – sometimes its as simple as a few words, spoken at the right time, sometimes just being there or not being there. Sometimes it is intentional, and others just happen.
Today’s Prompt: Random
Sometimes the best thing we can say to someone we love is nothing – to simply be there for them.
Today’s Prompt: It’s the little things
We live in a world of instant everything – instant food, fiction and news. We eat, breathe and sleep on the cutting edge. The only problem is the instant news isn’t always the truth. By the time the truth is known, the genie is out of the bottle, the cows have burned down the barn, the goats are eating pop-rocks and no one really cares anymore.
Today’s prompt : The truth isn’t hidden– sometimes its just ignored in favor of something flashier.
I’ve always believed that if you can find something to laugh about, no matter how stressful the situation – its one that can’t get the better of you. Sometimes its hard, but sometimes– it is exactly what you need to survive.
Today’s Prompt- No laughing matter
